fourfold synonymic parallelism
eh? - sorry, I am as thick as a brick, please explain what you mean ...
mark smith , in his commentary on the baal epic, has made an interesting observation on messianic motifs in the ot and nt, particularly as relating to the bringing of a new era of peace (slwm).
such passages announce an impending epoch of peace, and describing it in agricultural terms as "planting peace" or "casting peace" as one casts seeds.
ezekiel 34:25-40 describes the removal of hostilities from the earth and the advent of paradisical conditions.

my question to you: why does god permit evil?
this is not a bait but something i'd really like to get your view on.

But time is not actually stretched in this instance, just your perception of it.
Our perception of time makes time what it is.
LSD was responsible for my most profound experiences. Totally whacked out and twisted.
a horrible, horrible day..... i hope you don't mind me venting a little...... to start out, i've been sick for two weeks now with bronchitis that i can't seem to get rid of......so i've been feeling really bad.
today is my second visit to the dr. and i found out that i'm asthmatic so i haven't been able to get over this...the dr. told me the wheezing and coughing spells that i've had are making it hard for me to get rid of all the congestion.. at lunch one of our cars breaks down and we have to have it towed to get fixed.
then it ends up costing a lot to get it fixed..... to top all of this off, since i was sick today i worked from home on a day that i would normally travel and hour and go into the office.
Sorry to hear that.
Bad times can group together at times like a clump of rotten bananas.
A friend of mine recently lost all of his vision in one eye and 40% vision in the other. He suffers from depression which broke his relationship with his wife. Has 3 kids to look after by himself. Hasn't been able to work in years, thus low income. Lost his pancreas and has other internal problems as a result. I have no idea how he manages to maintain his grip on reality (probably the kids!).
Hope you feel better soon.

If God was "in time" from a human perspective, why not simply use His foreknowledge to show his creatures (both human and angel) what WOULD happen if humans ruled themselves?
That is an issue a "wanting to be a JW again" friend of mine raised recently while we were discussing various issues and I expressed many doubts about various aspects of the faith. I couldn't provide any light at all for him concerning that question. Interesting though, isn't it.
I also believe that the God I have defined within my mind exists outside of the physical mechanism of time which afterall is defined and measured from a human perspective. The divisions we have created suit our needs, but to God he should be able to divide further into our fractions to infinity, and exist within one of those infinite divisions for an eternity if that was his desire to do so.
Time can be stretched - I have witnessed that when I used to use mind altering substances. Time becomes meaningless in an hightened state of awareness .
what kind of conversation would you suppose they'll have
Possibly eye each other with great suspicion and inside their minds loop the mantra - "I hate you all, I hate you all, I hate you all" ...
Possibly - or just have one big love-in !

Absolutely

God didn't even know that evil would occur
God would certainly have seen the potential of the seed germinating. Maybe that is why within scripture that the punishment and redemption were provided so quickly?
To suggest that the God I believe in would allow evil to evolve in order for the revelation of the greater good is intriguing, yet I can't see the need for this to occur. Love should have been pure from the onset of creation, I can imagine no need to inflict hurt to display a deeper meaning of love. To love another is not to hurt them?

Oh, I disagree that the dubs have as good an answer as any.
Well, at least they have an answer. Many haven't It's ok, feel free to disagree. There is nobody here or anywhere who has an answer absolute to your original question. Only ideas.
Humans cannot rule themselves and will be miserable without him.
Hmmm... the way that statement is phrased makes God sound like a rampant egotist. I believe (well most of the time when away from plaguing negative thoughts & doubts) that we live in a great big fancy physical creation that remains bound to God and has underlying laws that underpin everything that lives and breathes and certainly help to keep things ticking along nicely. These laws when followed assist us all to live together and have a great time. Pull away from these laws and we suffer as a whole ... the plants, the animals, the humans, the whole creative heap starts to go down. So if we remain bound to God, things go well etc etc That could be just the way it is - why not?
The expression of evil in my opinion is rooted in selfishness and the chosen tool of the short-sighted to help define their reality and provide short cuts and easy answers to deep-rooted fears and frustrations. Evil may also be the expression of a bloated ego.
Those with real vision embrace the whole picture and work towards the deeper principle of love; namely self-sacrifice.

If "evil" were not allowed, freewill would be negated.
There are books that discuss this issue indepth if you search for them. As a former JW (well I think you are) I think you understand the Biblical point of view. The JWs have as good an explanation from a Christians point of view as I have heard.
I believe the Kabbalists go deep into this subject area as well, it may be worth looking to that group for further enlightenment.
